Lindberg appointed Music Director of Israel NK Orchestra

Rated side by side with Israeli Philharmonic by the Israeli Ministry of Culture as the most important orchestra in the country  THE ISRAEL NK ORCHESTRA now embarks on its 46th season with Christian Lindberg as new Music Director. Previous directors were Avi Ostrovsky, Noam Sharif, Doron Salomon, Yaron Gottfried and Shaled Ad-El who built the orchestra in to a unit performing more than 120 concerts per year throughout Israel, but also an orchestra that regularly tours internationally, most recently in South America and China.
Christian Lindberg speaks out enthusiastically: ”Back in the 1980s Israel NK Orchestra was one of the first group to invite me as a soloist, and now almost 30 years later coming back as a conductor, it took less than ten minutes in to the first rehearsal for us to find each other. Therefore it was natural for me to accept when the manager Hila Dagan asked me to become their new music director”

Lindberg Awarded International Classical Music Award

We are proud to announce that Christian Lindberg is the winner of INTERNATIONAL CLASSICAL MUSIC AWARD 2016. Chief editors of the most important music magazines in 12 countries have voted. Previous winners were Esa-Pekka Salonen(2011), Krzysztof Pendereck(2012), Charles Dutoit(2013, Aldo Ciccolini(2014), Dmitrij Kitajenko(2015) and now Christian Lindberg(2016). Christian will receive the prize at a gala concert in Cultural Capital City of 2016 San Sebastian on the 1st of April where he will also conduct/narrate/play his composition ”The Tale of Kundraan”.

Lindberg conducts Prague Radio Orchestra at their 100th anniversary season

Christian Lindberg has been invited to conduct the Prague Radio Orchestra in November this year. The program includes Sibelius´ Second Symphony, Nielsen Helios Overture, Lindberg´s own The Tale of Kundraan and Leopold Mozart Trombone Concerto

Lindberg on tour with Zubin Mehta and Israel Philharmonic

In May 2017 Lindberg goes on a major tour with Zubin Mehta and israel Philharmonic. It was three years ago that Zubin Mehta took the initiative to work with Christian Lindberg and invited him to his Maggio Fiorentino in Florence. Since then their collaboration has continued with several concerts together, this year three concerts in Munich, and in 2018 they will together embark on a major tour with the orchestra where Mehta is lifetime Music Director, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Mehta has also been generous enough to take an advisory role for Christian Lindberg in his career as conductor.
